Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

Our little baby Jacob was born on November 10, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to his loving parents Melissa and Rudy. He was so filled with love and joy, and spent his short time here on earth knowing and giving unconditional love. Jacob got his angel wings on February 12, 2007 and is now watching over us from heaven. We will always love you our little bear.

TO HONOR YOU
To honor you, I get up everyday and take a breath
And start another day without you in it.
To honor you, I laugh and love with those who knew your smile
and the way your eyes twinkled with mischief and secret knowledge.
To honor you, I take chances, say what I feel, hold nothing back, risk making a fool of myself, and dance every dance.
You were my light, my heart, my gift of love
from the very highest source.
So everyday, I promise to make a difference,
share a smile, live, laugh, and love.
Now I live for us both,
So all I do, I do to HONOR YOU.

Parenting Magazine Article

Baby Jake-

You obviously want your story told and you want to help in the fight against SIDS. In April, a reporter from Parenting Magazine contacted me through your website and she wanted to do a story about you, and the current state of SIDS in the US. It was pretty powerful and your daddy and I are glad that we were able to contribute and let the world know how special you are. We love you.

Aunt Jenn and Uncle Andrew's Wedding

Jennifer Caputo and Andrew Dewar, Jake's aunt and uncle, were married on July 20, 2008 in Middletown, CT. In lieu of wedding favors, Jenn and Andrew chose to make a donation to the CJ SIDS Foundation in memory of Jake. Baby Jake thanks you!!

Angel Memorial Walk

On Sunday, August 10 2008, the Angel Memorial Walk will be held in Denver to Support Angel Eyes, formerly the Colorado SIDS Program. This year, Melissa played an active role in raising funds and obtaining silent auction donations for the event! Rudy's company, Proactive Solutions, Inc. was a silver level sponsor for the event! Melissa's parents, baby Jake's grandparents, are coming out from NY for the walk, and Melissa's mom made and donated a beautiful neclace and earing set for the silent auction! Melissa is very excited to be a part of this in memory of Jake and the event should be a great success!!

Working Towards Ending SIDS
In Jake's memory and in honor of his life, his parents are dedicated to helping find the cause of and put an end to SIDS. In the past year, Melissa has gone to the CJ Foundation for SIDS National Conference in St Louis, MO, presented information about the latest SIDS research to SIDS parents at the Colorado SIDS program, wrote an article about SIDS research for the Colorado SIDS program newsletter, become an active member of the El Paso County SIDS Task Force and is part of the walk committee for the Memorial SIDS walk that takes place in Denver each year. Rudy and Melissa were both involved in an article put together by Scripps Howard News Service regarding the classification, or lack their of, of SIDS deaths in America. Melissa was interviewed personally for the articles that were published across the country and internationally, and Melissa and Rudy were photographed for the article. Melissa and Rudy have also been active in financially supporting SIDS fundraisers and research, such as Colorado's Ski for SIDS and the Fallen Leaves Memorial Walk, as well as direct dontations to the CJ Foundation for SIDS.

We hope that Jake would be proud of what we do, and how we have chosen to honor his life. I believe that his impact on this world is far greater than we will ever know.
